Check out Angela’s eyelashes. Fake? Nope, those long luscious lashes are real!!
She let us in on her secret: Her eyelash obsession for amazing lashes started in 2007 when she started using Jan Marini eyelash conditioner. When Allergan came out with Latisse, she made the switch and her long eyelashes grew to even new lengths! When people come over to observe, she gushes about Latisse.
But here’s the trick; she uses Obagi Foaming Gel Cleanser every night to remove the mascara and other make-up products from her face and eyes. The cleansed area allows Latisse to work more effectively.
Since Angela has hit the maximum eyelash length, she only has to use Latisse as maintenance, around 2 to 4 times a week.
You want in on this secret? You’ve come to the right spot! Latisse is now available at The SHAW Center for $154 after rebates – and that’s for the new largest size! We also carry LiLash Eyelash Enhancer, which fans claim as a favorite!
We’re looking forward to seeing your eyelashes being just as amazing as Angela’s!

Recently, Allure magazine asked me to review a study that claimed Botox can be used to treat acne. The study, which was published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, was written by Chicago plastic surgeon Anil Shah, who says he has used Botox to treat about 100 patients for their acne.
Dr. Shah believes Botox treats acne in two ways, firstly by blocking the chemical acetylcholine, which revs up oil production, and secondly by paralyzing the tiny muscles that surround pores and preventing them from expanding. While Dr. Shah’s findings are intriguing (17 out of the 20 patients he examined reported a decrease in sebum production and pore size), his study was much too small to offer any conclusive evidence that Botox can improve acne–to do that, a randomized, double-blind, controlled study is necessary.
Though Botox may slightly decrease oil production, in my opinion it won’t help cure pimples. In fact, I have personally treated thousands of patients with Botox and have never seen an improvement in acne. Even more worrying is that it would have to be used on the cheeks, which are frequently prone to acne. If your doctor accidentally paralyzed one of the many muscles in the cheeks, you could end up looking like you’d had a stroke!
Even without these issues, this would be a very expensive way to treat acne–Botox typically costs $500 per vial and only lasts about four months. There are many cheap and effective acne treatments that offer much more bang for your buck, including drugstore products by Oxy and Neutrogena that contain benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. (Read Salicylic Acid – Inexpensive Skincare That Works.)
Or you can visit your dermatologist to take advantage of the “credit cards” currently being offered by drug companies to stimulate sales. They offer patients discounts of up to $100 on prescription drugs like Ziana (a mix of a retinoid and an antibiotic), which will cost just $50 for a three-month supply after the discount.

Wishing you great skin!

Reality TV star Bristol Palin is raising eyebrows for her dramatic transformation in the promo photos for season 15 of “Dancing With the Stars.” The final contestant, Cheetah Girls singer Sabrina Bryan, was confirmed on Aug. 27, 2012, setting the stage for a stacked field of competitors.
In the newly-released promo pictures, Bristol appears significantly thinner than when she competed on “DWTS” in 2010, when she placed third overall.
Palin, who recently declared that her main goal this time was to “not gain any weight,” was harpooned two years ago as the only “DWTS” contestant to ever gain weight while competing on the reality TV competition.
Bristol, who has slimmed down considerably since then, underwent chin liposuction and jaw surgery in December 2010 to get rid of her chubby cheeks and double chin.
“I am absolutely thrilled with the results,” Palin told Us in 2011. “I look older, more mature, and don’t have as much of a chubby little baby face!”
Bristol, daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, has reunited her former “DWTS” partner Mark Ballas. “Dancing with the Stars” (the all-star edition) kicks off Sept. 24, 2012.
